Between 1996 and 2000 Madeleine studied for and gained a Diploma in Integrative Counselling from the London School of Counselling and Psychotherapy, whilst working in management positions in the City. She has since gained a Certificate in Performance Coaching and Stress Management, a Certificate in Solution Focused Brief Therapy and a Certificate in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy. In early 2005 she started up WorkScales Ltd aimed at corporate needs and most of her work today is corporate, working successfully with clients in private companies, public sector and charities. She was responsible for up to seventy staff during her four years at Baker & McKenzie and started her counselling training during her three years as Client Services Manager for Hogg Robinson Skillbase, where she helped many corporate clients facing redundancy find new positions in the City and nationwide. Prior to this she worked for Bowring Marsh & McLennan, a City insurance broker, for three years and also spent a couple of years travelling independently to gain an understanding of other cultures. She worked locally for the NHS as a voluntary counsellor during her four years' counsellor training and followed this by working for a charity helping people affected by disability in North London. She has also worked as a voluntary bereavement counsellor at a local hospice and part-time for MIND as an employment consultant, helping people with mental health issues gain or remain in open employment. Madeleine is a member of the the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, the Association for Coaching and the International Stress Management Association. Her hobbies include horse-riding, music and charitable work.
