Background
|
Leads the identification, development and implementation of business development opportunities that will enable The Group to meet growth objectives in both established and potentially new therapeutic areas and markets. Ensure all opportunities provide sustainable value and high impact . Work closely with the business development team to support global business development efforts. Work closely with the Therapeutic Teams to ensure alignment and that collaborative actions are taken to achieve short and long tern profitability goals.

The Job

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
• Identifies and implements business development initiatives.
• Leads initial market analysis for new opportunities and works closely with the Moderator Group to assure timely & accurate assessments.
• Develop and execute business development partnership activities; provides leadership and guidance in assessing opportunities; coordinates the resources needed to support business goals and implement new product development activities; assures the satisfaction of internal and external customers.
• Monitors and reviews medical news and pharmaceutical industry information sources for business intelligence of strategic value to the Company; remains current with industry trends.
• Works closely with Clinical Development in preparing target product profiles for new products.
• Strengthen internal and external communications on business development matters.
• Represent business development at project, partner, and product meetings.
• Support senior level business development team members with project overflow as needed.
• Attend industry conferences, symposia, and related events germane to business development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements
|
Qualifications /Knowledge Of:
• 5+ years of relevant pharmaceutical sales, marketing and/or progressive business development experience. • Strong understanding of broad commercial strategies, financials, IP and legal issues involved in business development projects.
• FDA and other pertinent regulatory compliance regulations and requirements.
• Ideal breadth of experience includes acquisition, in- and out-licensing, co-promotions, etc.
• Entrepreneurial mindset-- become a major contributor in identifying under-valued product and alliance opportunities.
• Ability to work independently to manage multiple projects, duties, and assignments.
• Communicating clearly and concisely in oral and written format.
• Establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships with others.
Education And/Or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Business, Marketing, Biology, Chemistry or related field; and a minimum five years experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
